If you dont use the right kind of paint and use thick coats it will affect the cooling of the calipers. |

Had my calipers as well as my rotors painted black during my serivce. I wanted yellow (calipers) but that was going to be messy (brake dust on yellow?), and the yellow was not doing to hold up like black would. After a few months they don't look wonderful and I don't know what paint they used other than the calipers are rated at 500degF and the rotors at 1200degF, IIRC. I may end up repainting them myself with the special caliper paint. Do a net search for caliper paint to give you some ideas... -Ben |

Yeah almost any auto store that has somewhat of a ghetto-cruiser customer base will have caliper paint. My friend painted his BMWs calipers blue and they look great. It was really easy to paint on and has so far held up perfect. |

Go to an auto parts store where you can buy brake caliper paint in black , red , silver and yellow. It is made for brakes and can take the heat. Steve |

If I were going to paint my calipers I would use POR-15 paint. This stuff is the best and hardest to remove I have ever seen. If you get it on your hands it will not come off, it has to wear off. Also, is "dah" a yankee pronounciation of "duh"? |

I would also like to know. I asked Ferrari of Washington a while back and they said that any paint you use would just peel right off because the brakes get so hot. Anyone have any experiences, good or bad, regarding this? |

my stock calipers are black with previously red lettering! The letters have faded now and are silver. I'd like to paint the whole thing red if possible at reasonable cost. I know you can not just paint them with house paint...dah! Any ideas? |
