I concur with eurocardoc's message. Replaced the Marelli box with an MSD in a 356BB and used all other factory components without problem. |

When installing MSD or similar, we have had no problems, either with Lambo or Ferrari, just substituting for the Marelli box. Works great. |

The trigger wheel is just one of my designs, sold thru Nick's. FYI: the ID is 5.560", to fit the standard 308 balancer. Is the distributor cap bolt pattern the same as 308-328, and TR? |

David, I don't think it would be any difficult running twin-six ignition packs on this engine. Like you said, two sensors (60° apart) reading off the same trigger-ring. Nick Scianna has a trigger ring that fits on the 308's harmonic balancer, it MAY fit on the Boxer, but only you and him can confirm this. |

Gents, As this is a carbed bb, fuel management is (currently) of no concern. Two ignition units are required, as Electromotive does not make a unit for a 12. Two units would require two crank sensors, etc... Anyone every fabricated, or gone through the design process for this? Regards, David |

I would just email Electromotive and ask them, they know a hell of a lot obviously. I'm using the Tec3 to run the show on the 308 (fuel and ignition). The HPX is their ignition only system now if I remember correctly. I can't remember the exacts of the BB, I know a racing 365 (ex LeMans car) I worked on ran one distributor, have to check the BBs setup. http://www.electromotive-inc.com |

I believ the BB as most other Ferrari 12 cylinders already operate as two 6 cylinders. |

I think it would be better to run one computer. However I don't know of any but electromotive that sell just the ignition control, they usually can do both ingnition and fuel. You don't need to connect the fuel, but it would be there if you want to. The new haltech E11 would work, and I think the motronic (sp) will work and might be as cheap as buying 2 electomotives, the haltech is 1500 with a wire harness, but you need to buy coils separate (50 each). |

Before I walk this road alone, I thought I'd post a note to see if anyone has installed the Electromotive units on a BB. Seems it can be done using two six cylinder units...and setting the engine/timing up as two six cylinder engines, with one unit triggering the other... Thoughts? Regards, David |
