You can get tool kits on E-Bay once and a while..(I used "saved searches" with E-Mail notification for things like this.

Where do you think I might be able to pick up a tool kit and tool roll without breaking the bank?

Thanks

The strap resembles on of those black bungee cords. It's only like 7 or 8 inches long with a hook that latches into a bracket on one end (the other end is anchored into the trunk). You could probably cut one of those straps and make a pretty nice replacement. Or see if Ferrari has one, from what I have seen, rubber things like that aren't ridiculously expensive from them.

Good luck

I guess my straps are missing.....

Bret.. If you look at http://www.ferrariusa.com/Automobili/index.asp
under 308 & Buying & Originality, there is a list of what tools should be in the cases.

My 308qv has that black rubber strap (right inside where the license plate is) in the trunk. I use it to secure my kit and a small fire extinguisher. My tool kit doesn't have much in it though. I really don't use it at all.

What's supposed to be in kit?

I have had three 328's and all of them had the tool kit affixed by an elastic strap in the trunk area. This is the way they came from the factory.

Craig, In my 328 the tools are fastened in by a rubber strap on the back edge of the trunk space. They're kind of elastic and hold them tight. I'm not sure if this is stock or not, but I assume it is.

It seems odd that my car has two tool kits that are not positively fastened in the trunk storage area. I can't find anything in the owners manual that says they should be but flying around in the the back bouncing off the sides just doesn't seem right to me. Is no tie downs the normal practice?
