Mario. I would not drive it until replaced. Unless you like surprises for X-mas!
Good luck.

Tom, I am still driving the car the system is working but leaking. The pedal feels OK & the clutch is operating. I plan to remove the slave housing over Xmas & look at it then. I am just interested if there are any special tools required in getting at those seals. Regarding the number of posts, I 've had my Mondial for 9.5 years so know most of the horror stories but last year as if one's not bad enough I also got a MK1 MR2 (Baby F car) & that has been my main posts to web sites -keeping it running - as its my main everyday car. - Mario

I beleive he just did the seals - I think he charged me 100 bucks or something. I do remember he had a hell of a time either removing it or getting it open - something had siezed up and it was a PITA to work on. if you have done it on another car I would not see why this should be particurlly challenging. Make sure to check the fluid level in the MC to make sure it all have not leaked out. BTW only 4 posts in over a year and a half - where you been :-)

Tom can you elaborate on that? was it just seals or did they have to re-hone the cylinder bore? I did this job on my Toyota & it was quite easy.
Cheers,
Mario.

Hi Just crawled under my 83 Mondial QV & found the clutch slave cylinder leaking fluid. Just had the shock of the price of a new slave assy from Ferrari here in the UK = 157 +Vat (About $292)!! I know that the (I assume rubber) seals are available for $20-30 each & there are 2 of them. My question to you guys is has anybody had any experience with an overhaul of the slave or is it just a waste of time, getting the unit out is not too dificult 2 bolts & a banjo - Cheers, Mario.
