Concerning 328 camshaft timing belt replacement: can a new belt be installed without removing any cam drive pulleys? I've fully compressed the tensioner pulley spring. It does not appear that the new timing belt has enough slack to slip over the pulleys without removing the pulleys and installing them with the belt. That approach seems difficult but possible. The workshop manual is silent on specific instructions or techniques. Any experience with this? Thanks in advance.

Tom F. -- You might want to count and measure your existing bushings yourself to help the ES guy (or whoever) when you place the order (i.e., I think the FList group troubles could have been avoided if they knew beforehand that they only needed the 30 mm size for 308s). My (limited) knowledge on the subject is:

1. There are 30mm OD and 34mm OD F A-Arm bushings available from ES (where "OD" means the size of the diameter which fits into the A-arm).

2. 308s use all 30mm OD bushings

3. 348s use some 30mm OD and some 34mm OD bushings -- and more total bushings than a 308.

Another reasonably hassle-free option may be SuperformanceUK (if your 328 uses the 30mm bushings) as they show "standard" and "harder" 308 "rubber" bushings at a decent price (but who knows how literally they are using the term "harder rubber" -- could be PolyU like the ES units or something in-between) -- worth an email IMO.

Post what size(s) your 328 uses if you pursue the project (and others please correct me if I've made any mis-statements above).

Hey Folks,

I've just gotten started with my winter maintance. It's time to do the minor maintance plus I'm changing the rotors and brake pads. While doing the brakes I noticed my bushings were badly worn so I plan to replace those too. Any suggestions on what type to buy and from where? (best price)? Any tricks I should know on installing? If anyone else needs some maybe we could get a group discount.
