Frank, i totally agree with you he is very good, excellent as a matter of fact. He kept my car for over a year...and he had no adequate storage facilities...so it stayed outside in the yard while he waited to find time to work on it...he is a nice person, artist, did a great job...but he is slow as molasses. A year is too long to repaint a car. Period. Plus, he has no insurance so if his place burns down, he cannot reimburse you for your car...so you have to have a comprehensive policy to cover him...things may have changed since 1990 when I had my car redone...and I say it again, he is an artist no doubt

Beau is slow not doubt. But, if you want a quick cheap job , go to Maico. If you want a councours job, go to Beau.

I just bought a car with a Pirkle paint job.
It really is a step above. In black it really shows the gloss.
Compared it to my neighbors brand new BMW and could see a noticable difference.
The previous owner had the job done so I have no idea how he is to work with.

i too have used Bo Pirkle..he does great work, but he is slow as molasses. I had my 1971 Daytona in his shop for a year or more before he finished it....and admittedly he had a lot to do there, but too long... parts of the car rusted just sitting there...had to do a new brake job because my caliper broke just sitting there. He also has to be paid as he wetn along. I am proud of the job he did, he is an artist and very expensive, but I would not take the time to do something like this again.

Maybe it would be a good idea to get quotes from both, I think that's what I'll do. You guys have been great, that was exactly what I was looking for! Happy Holidays!

Bo (not Beau) will do work that will increase the value of your car. Note Bob Mayer's 355C in this weeks FML and 1 other ad even make a point of saying who did the work.

I dont know Beau, but have heard he does fantastic work. I have also heard he is 2 or 3 times as expensive as a shop like Sports and Imports. All I can tell you is the paint quality I have seen come out of Sports and Imports is show quality.

I guess if I had a really high dollar car and I wanted to concours it, I would take it to Beau. If I want a really top quality paint job on a car Im going to drive alot, a place like S&I. Anyhow, maybe get quotes from both, who knows perhaps Beau is not more?

Beau Pirkle is the best Ferrari paint man in the business. PERIOD. He has touched up every Ferrari I have owned. In fact, the front and rear bumpers from my Boxer are at his shop now being brought back to euro-spec. He is an artist and will only do a job one way and that is the correct way. No short cuts from Beau. If you want it done right, go to him. If you want to cut corners, go elsewhere.

Bo Pirkle
Pirkle Body Shop
770-939-6982

He is in Tucker close to the old FAF. He does a lot of Ferrari work including the dealership. I've used him several times. I'm sure a number of people on this board who live in the Southeast have used him at one time or another. He's a little high but he knows what he's doing.

If I needed a car painted or repaired it would go straight to Bo.

I think you're over $5K but under $10K depending on how deep you want to go. Just a real rough guess though.

Sports and Imports. They have 2 locations, Chamblee location is very good. They repainted my 993 after an off track incident, it looked much better than the factory paint job. They do really good work. They work on pretty much only high end european cars. They are expensive, insurance companies dont like them, they are extremely busy and very slow. I would expect a full repaint on a car with no damage to run $8K - $10K. Not cheap.... but it will look fantastic and it will last a long time. No affiliationg blaa blaa blaa... I actually think the owner is something of a jerk, but hey, you cant argue with their work.

I am thinking about repainting my 348. I thought you guys might be able to recommend a good shop. Also does anyone know what something like this should cost?
