Forgot to add: I am not convinced that it is as durable a finish as is claimed. Certainly more so than painting. A couple years ago I had some pieces professionally done and was much happier. |

I have used the Eastwood system and have been very satisfied. I have only done small parts with it but have had good results. It is a little tricky to use and the smell in the oven can be a little overwhelming. Use lots of ventilation and disconnect your smoke detector if it is anywhere in the vicinity. I would practice on a few junk parts first until you get the hang of it. |

Does anyone do thier own powder coating? The Memphis group has decided to take the plunge for an inexpensive system to do our own coating. Tom Francis has stepped up to the plate and volunteered his garage to house the oven. This was the largest obsticle. We've looked at the Eastwood Hot Coat system, and now are investigating the Chicago tools system. Any experienced advice here? Jeff |
