Thanks for the tip, I'll clean the sender and the contacts the sender this weekend and see if that solves it.

Tap on the tach glass, it does the trick :-)

It has happened to alot of people. Most of the time its the sender.

It happened to me, but it wouldn't work for the first 10 miles, then it would bounce and read normal. I cleaned the wire-connection at the sender and its worked perfect ever since.

Some days ago the speedometer of my 1986 Ferrari 328 has started to act crazy.

At cold start everything is fine, but after 5 or 6 miles the gauge of the speedometer starts bouncing up and down for a couple of minutes. After that it just stops working until I stop the car for about 5 minutes and then it works again for other 5 or 6 miles.

I have no idea of what is going on. I do not know if it is a Speedometer problem or a problem on the sender unit at the engine.

Does anybody experienced something similar?
