David: Xenon bulbs are much brighter than Halogen, and have the "HID" look (bright blue-white) found on Mercedes, Acura, etc. I've done a Xenon upgrade to my 308QV... it's great. About $50 including conversion kit, bulbs and shipping, from www.kyotousa.com (you have to call and ask for the conversion kits, they don't list them on the website). |

I bought my set at www.autobulbdepot.com and they were snap to install (would have been easier without Jims help :-) but I did not want to hurt his feelings). Remember I have the euro bumper which gives me more room to fit light. Tommy, Also, the Hella site seems to offer several 7" choices for a 308. Besides the obvious wattage differences, do you know what the "Xenon" and "Yellow Star" provide versus the others? Is a 60 watt Xenon about as bright as the 100 watt you have, without needing the relay? Pair with 78155 60/55 (Standard) $67.78 Pair with 78158 100/55 $75.56 Pair with 78159 100/80 $76.14 Pair with 78150 60/55 Xenon $81.32 Pair with 78159Y 110/85 Yellow Star $90.86

The BEST headlight upgrade you can do is buy a pair of cheap Bosch relays and a pair of lenses that allow you to r&r the bulbs. Hook the relays up to the battery and plug in some H4 100w bulbs. BIG BIG difference. The relays alone can make even the stock 55w headlights brighter since you will be skipping the switch and passing the current straight from the battery to the lights. DO NOT install 100w bubs without the relay. You can't have one without the other or you can fry your headlight switch on the column. |

Mike, the silver '83 308 on Nick's Forza Ferrari site belongs to Paul Sloan. I helped modify the grille and install the lights. His car really looks mean with the lowering kit and 360 wheels. It will probably be the most modified 308 in existence when he's finished with the engine and brakes. I'm sure he'll share the details with all of us (hint, Paul). |

YELLOW LENSES FOR QV EURO DRIVING LIGHTS? Most of my driving is twisty NE roads. I need fog/rain lighting more than just more light. Anyone know if BOSCH makes yellow lenses for the Euro 308 QV's driving lights? |

Here is another site for lights. There is a lot of technical information on this site although it does take some time to digest it all. http://lighting.mbz.org/home.html |

Thomas, Not sure if you are doing this for looks, or if your headlights are not up to snuff, but if you haven't already, try upgrading your headlights too. Just make sure you get the "E-code" or European versions. Hella brand are inexpensive and a very worthwhile upgrade. Cibie is another, slightly more expensive option. I like the flat faced Hella, as it is easier to stick "Stone Guard" plastic adhesive to them. http://catalog.com/susq/hella/headlamp.htm They also sell the fog/driving lights too. |

For one thing, you'd have to cut the grille on your US model. The grille on the euro makes room for those foglights. And euro bumpers don't have the thicker areas that the US bumpers do... the euro bumpers are the same all the way across. Others have installed driving lights below the bumper rather than inset into the grille area. You can see an example at www.nicksforzaferrari.com/forzaferrariwebsite1044.jpg That car actually belongs to a FerrariChat participant...
