Matt, thanks for the offer, that would be great, but you would have to pick me up in thousand oaks and then take me all the way to redondo, its quite a ways past LAX, it would be somewhat of an imposition, i could always rent a car and just drop it off in redondo, the ride thing was just a shot, 805-495-8996, if its to far out of your way i would deffinetly understand, give me a call |

ok, heres the update, the problem wasnt the clutch slave, after the mech took it apart they found several fingers broken off the pressure plate, ive been told that this isnt common but it does happen, everything else was ok, the car does have 26K with the original clutch so clutch work wasnt unexpected. had a great time on the S.B. run, looking forword to the next one |

Craig, Do not pump the pedal. Jack car rear up about 1 foot to 2 ft off ground(i know you can reach it w/o jacking there is a reason). Use jack stands don't kill yourself. say to helper down as you crack the nut. He is to hold and say bottom whne he gets to bottom you close nut. His stroke should be one one-thosand two onethousand in time. Do not do more than a crack the bleeder is shitty and lets air in if you open it too much. He releases and you repeat proceedure until all air is out. The inlet to the clutch master is very high in the reservoir. Another shitty design. Make sure you fill it often. If you did not realize this in 8-10 times you drained the reservoir below the clutch inlet and you have more air in your system. You will have to bleed about 0ne can or brake fluid thourgh to get all the air out. Look at the reservoir and the high mounted clutch slave intake in the upper 1/3rd of the reservoir. If that does not work and you are sure the air is out we look for other failures like air into via the break lines to sever the subassembly from the chasis, leaky T/O bearings, leaks into the gearbox case. |

i had a friend push the peddle down 3 or 4 times then hold it down, i opened the bleed nut for a second and let the fluid squit out, befor it was done coming out i closed the nut, did this about 8-10 times, still nothing, the next day i did the same thing over again, never let the fluid in the resevoir get low, did i do it correct? thanks Billy |

Craig, Describe your bleed proceedure. 348's need a special bleed method for really complete bleed. |

well guys, i bled the clutch and it didnt make any difference, i even did it twice and still nothing, acually it seems to be getting worse, now i have no clutch at all, i think the slave has completly blown the seals, i called the guys who rebuilt the slave and they said bring it in and its under warranty |

i havent messed with it yet, but i did notice a couple drops of what looks like brake fluid under that area of the car, the combination of needing bleeding and drops under the car is leading me to believe the slave is leaking, it was rebuilt about 2K miles and 8 months ago, i would think it still under warranty, at least i hope so, i keep your guys posted, |

Craig - how did the bleed go? Did it resolve the issues you were facing with your clutch and gears? B. |

Yes Craig, that is the bleeder screw. Probably has a rubber protective cap on the end of it? |

on the drive up to S.B. everything was working great, when i got off the freeway i put the car in neutral and couldnt get it back into gear, i shut the car off, put it in gear started it back up and got it off the road, after talking to a few of the ferrari guys the conclusion was the clutch needs bleeding, my question is, where is the slave bleed valve on the trans, i see where the clutch hydrolic line runs into the trans, and next to it theres a line that runs out to the bottom of the car with a nut at the end, is that the bleed for the slave? thanks |
