I think it is the catch at the front of the window where the issue is, as the headliner is tight everywhere except where it comes to the front windshield. Do you any pictures of what this catch is like at the rear-view mirror?

I just removed the headliner in my 77 GTB. Here is some info for you:
1. The headliner is held in with pop rivets along the top of the door frames and by 4 pop rivets (2 on each side) in the back where the quarter windows are.
2. If you pop out the interior light, there is one long phillips head screw that holds the headliner in.
3. All of the trim behind the seats needs to be removed. The panels one the back 'shelf' are held in with nuts that must be removed from the engine bay.
4. You may have to remove the trim on the A-pillars to ger the headliner out. These are also held in with pop rivets along the door frames.
5. Once everything mentionned above is removed, make sure that you loosn all the riveted connections by prying them apart with a flat headded screwdriver.
The headliner will have to slide forwards a little (there is a catch where the rear view mirror is) and should drop in your hands.
As far as creeks go, make sure all the riveted connections are tight and that the cach along the front of the glass is tight. Also lightly grease all connections when reassebling. This should alleviate any noises. |

Can anyone share with me how to tighten, or remove and reinstall the headliner on a 78, 308GTB. Mine is loose and rattles a little. Pictures or pointers would be greatly appreciated. |
