Jeff - go to a good autobody supply store and puruse their 3M catalog. You'll find rocker panel/chip guard sprays that can be applied and then top coated with the proper satin black. If done correctly, you'll have something that duplicates the factory process. Same thing for the lower rockers and rear lower bumper area on the 328 cars.

Does anyone know where I can get a similar coating for my lower front spoiler on my 328?

It appears to be a flat finished rubber type coating
