I sent the valve springs out to Nick like a week and a half ago, they should be at his shop tomorrow actually. I'm not sure if the porting is done or not, but it should be very close. The valve guides were replaced and the springs will go in as soon as he gets them. I'm gonna email him actually now to check out how it's coming. I'll definitely post when I get them back, especially after I repaint the covers. |

Speaking of the heads, How are they coming Bret? Are they finished and how far are you with your overhaul? Hope everything is going OK. |

It's Erin's car, a 1983. The bar runs right along the bottom of the cross memeber. Maybe becasue it is a Euro. I think he has a picture of it on his profile. We've become good friends and hang with each other every weekend I think our wives are getting a little jealous. But we usually invite them to come with us too, so it's kind of a foursome thing. OH And Bret, I usually like you too !!!! your so funny. hey how'd you like my post about reving our engines HUH. pretty funny HUH, for an old fat fart like me. I'll difenetly be calling you when i have to rebuild my motor. I'm trying to put it off for now. But, boy, Nick redoing those heads sure sounds nice. THX Kelly |

Yeah guys but the safest way and less stress is to use the jack points on the sides of the car and jack high enough to put the stands under the frame. |

I just noticed you said he had a QV. What year out of curiosity? My 85 has the torsion bar a couple inches behind the flat frame rail (that the engine bolts too, and has the jack reinforcing spot). |

Yeah do side by side on the other jack points that have the reinforcing, right near where the A arms connect. I do like you though Kelly usually. The back is so a lot easier to jack up than the front on the QV. |

Yea, I agree. My car is easy, the bar is nice and flat, and the whole rear end goes up. i'll just have to jackup side to side. THX Kelly |

That's really my point. It could and probably will distort the bar. Why not jack it up at the jacking point of the car on each side and put your stands under it that way. |

I do that just to get the rear up in the air. My jack is big enough that I'm not afraid of it rocking until I get the satnds under it. Don't worry, I've never had one fall yet, knock on wood. does it hurt to bend that torsion bar? |

Kelly, I have a 2V 308 and I use 4 jack stands to keep the car level. These are put at the 4 corners of the frame front and rear to keep the car level to drain. Why would you jack it up with one jack in the middle of the rear? I wouldn't advise it. My 2 cts.. |

I went to change a friend of mine's oil the other night and noticed that his rear torsion bar runs across the rear cross member. I have a 2V 308 and usually I just put my jack in the middle of that cross member(my torsion bar is in back of the cross memeber) and the hole rear end comes up at one time. Of course I put the stand under it. But, my questions is, would I do damage to the car to jack it up on that bar, of course it would bend to the cross memeber. Any ideas? THX Kelly |
