I agree - valvestem. If you are in doubt about it, just replace the valve stem itself and see if the problem persists. Also, if the temperatures outside are changing and becommming colder (that tells you how familiar I am with weather in Singapore!), the tire pressures will reflect it. And make sure you check the tire pressures - C O L D, not even barely warmed up. Cold as in - sitting in your garage overnight. |

If I remember correctly there was a recall on those wheels on the early 512M's. Might want to check with your dealer. Use to have some info on it around here but can't lay my hands on it right now. |

I agree with JRV most likely in the valve stem. If the leak is in the rim a dab of epoxy on the inside will often work. It worked for me on one of my Lola wheels that was leaking through a small casting imperfection. |

>>We dunked the whole wheel into a pool and there were no visible signs of a leak/bubbles. Visually, there are no nails/screws/cuts on the tire. << Lung, Before anyone can fix the leak, they would have to know where it is leaking beyond guessing. My reccomendation would be to check valve stem tightness first and replace the Schrader Valve (valve inside stem) to try and eliminate the simple and obvious things first.

I believe I have developed a very slow leak in my front 512M 3 piece rim. I am losing 1-2lbs per week. I have taken the whole rim/tire to a tire shop to check. We dunked the whole wheel into a pool and there were no visible signs of a leak/bubbles. Visually, there are no nails/screws/cuts on the tire. At this stage I am assuming its the rim that is leaking and not the tire. Can I assume its the rim that is leaking? Who does repair work on rims? Anyone had similar problems? Could someone recommend a specialist who could repair the rim. I am based in Singapore but am willing to send my rim to the States to an expert who can repair it. No one does repair work in Singapore. Any recommendations? |
