Try http://www.automotion.com/am/page_listings7.asp?c=21700&p=31090#51890. Porsche seems to use the same hoses.

Good idea as well to put masking tape over the carbs, to keep little bits from falling down the throats.

I'm going to use Weatherhead H057 fuel hose on my car. Last year, a couple of old hoses burst, and replaced it with that, worked well. I got 5/16" ID hose, this size is only a hair under 8mm and fits perfectly. The return line from the front, passenger's side carb to the gas tank on my car is 6mm, so 1/4" hose will fit as well for that piece.

This hose is not braided, but its a good hose to use. It has a working pressure limit of 50 psi and a working temp of 275°F (withstands that s---loads of heat generated by that engine in that tight compartment).

I paid about $3 Cdn/foot and comes from my supplier in a minimum 25' roll (more than enough).

James, When you remove the air cleaner you don't have to remove any gaskets or replace such. Just remove the nuts and washers holding the Air cleaner down on the carbs. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP ANY PARTS IN THE VENTURI OF THE CARBS. You should have a magnetic pen to retreve them. Count the washers and nuts to be sure you have all of them before re-assembly. The only way to replace the hoses properly is to remove the air cleaner.

I assume to take off the filter housing I'll need to take off the top covers of the carbs. In turn that means I need to replace the gaskets for the carbs. I really don't want to do that!

Good luck with trying to find those hoses locally James. I went to a local hose/rubber supplier, my local VW/Audi dealer (I was told they would have it on the shelf...they didn't), I also went to Auto Zone, Car Quest, etc. with no luck. I finally had to break down and order it. I would suggest taking your filter housing off for a much more pleasant assembly for those lines by the carbs.

I'm going to replace the fuel line coming out of the carbs on my 308 and was wondering if anyone knows in advance what size it is. I see from T Rutlands they have 8 mm and 10 mm hoses for the fuel lines. I'd prefer to buy the lines locally so that I can do it this weekend so T. Rutlands is out. Since this is a carbed vehicle and not fuel injected I assume I can get away with some hoses from Autozone or something. I just want some braided lines, just don't know the inside diameter and length needed. I'd prefer knowing the dimensions first so I have the parts in hand if I have trouble along the way. Also, it looks like the bottom connection won't be a problem, but what about the attachment to the air filter/carb area? It looks tucked in there pretty good. Will I need some major disassembly or can I pop it on easily with the air filter housing still on? Any help?
