Bruno when you look under the steering column you will see a few bolts holding the column up. These have slots and if you loosen them you can move the steering column up or down ablot 1-2".

Greg - probably a double :-) BTW - the babes on that show were never really all that good looking, wonder why?

I am 6'3 1/2 and barely make it.
Another inch and the car would be no fun at all to me.

Hey Stu, not to get off-track on this thread, but there was actually one episode where Tom Selleck was driving the car, at night, in the rain, with the targa top on...had a babe in the passenger seat. Can't remember the story of the episode though...

A couple of ejections from a fighter plane might do the trick. I believe some people got shorter by an inch from the forces.
;-)

sorry for the NFC, just couldn't resist...

David,

I know what you mean. I am also 6'6" but I don't have any real problems. I can even drive with the roof on! I heard that they can lower the seat about 1". Sometimes that is just what you need.

I'm 6'6" and have done no mods. I don't like driving with the targa top behind the seat but have done it. With the top in place or in the garage, I really fit OK with seat back and bottom pushed as far back as possible. My head clears the top by ~1".

It might be worth a call to a service department at a dealer in a city with an NBA team to see what they've done for their taller customers.

I know that Lake Forest Sports Cars has modified a couple of cars to fit guys 6'7" and taller.

Hans. (Who is 6'2" and fits with lots of room to spare.)

I read they made at least two modifications; 1) removed all the foam from the seat & 2)repositioned it as far back as it could go - flat against the rear wall. AND, you never saw him driving it with the top on!

As a side, I recently took a tall friend for a ride - he's about 6'5 - and he had to look over the windshield the intire time. Sadly, there was a slight drizzle, so he had to keep wiping his glasses! People were laughing at us, but we didn't care!!!

Hello All:

I am unfortunalty too tall (by about 2 inches) for my 84 308 GTS and cannot drive it with the targa on unless I keep my head cocked over.

I read that there were certain modifications made to Tom Selleck's car during the filming of Magnum as he had a similar problem.

Can anyone elaborate. It would be nice to drive it with the targa on occasianlly :-)
