New pads are advised for new rotors, because of the way the old pads have formed to the older rotors.

Many people will tell you different things, but I'll say this - if you don't track your car, you should be fine. The R4S's are soft enough that they will mold to your rotors.

BTW, on new rotors, I usually take some sand paper to them before getting on the road, and be very very very careful your first hundred or so miles, the friction will just not happen at all.

I have just fitted new Brembo rotors to my 308 gtb. Brembo advises to use new pads to bed the rotors over the first 100 miles or so. I searched the archives and there are a variety of opinions on using old versus new pads.

I am using Porterfield R4-S pads.

Can I ask again and ask folks to explain their logic. Eric (Dahl), you out there?
Thanks
Philip
