What would concern me about the imbalance Rex mentioned (and i agree with) would be 'wet pavement' panick stopping. On wet pavement any unbalance characteristics un-noticed in the dry would be greatly exagerated.

By upgrading you are increasing the available torque at the front, so, theoretically you are changing the brake bias, more front brake. In practice, though, the ABS system, the OEM rear proportioning valve, or both may be either able to compensate or they themselves are a limiting factor and upgrading may make no performance difference.

The manufacturer may have tested this system and discovered that one must change both front and rear to maintain brake balance at maximum deceleration.

If you only drive on the street, this is really only an appearance upgrade. Track performance is increased because you will have more mass to absorb energy and dissipate it as heat. As a cost saving measure I would be tempted to upgrade only the front if I was looking for better heat capacity for track days. I'd monitor the performance by noting the balance on corner entry while trailing brake and see if there's increased understeer.

If you're only concerned with heat capacity, it may be less expensive to properly duct air to the front brakes.

Thinking about putting a pair of 380mm brake kit in the front and leave the rear in stock 310mm. The kit is made by Movit, a German company. THey recommend changing the rear to 330mm as well but I wonder the extra benefit given the car is front-heavy and the cost. Like to hear your comment.
