I used Volkswagen / Audi hold down clips, the same ones used to hold their mats in place. The only thing I had to put a hole in was the mats. The other part screws into your carpet. They look great and unsnap when cleaning. I wanted something that wasn't "cheesy" looking. |

I just went to the neighborhood Ace Hardware store and purchased a couple feet of adhesive Velcro. Stick one side to the rubber portion of the factory mat, and the other to the back of your floor mat. If you have some trouble getting it to stick to the back of the mat (do to whatever backing it has) you can use contact cement. |

First thing I did when I got my QV was replace the originals with after market. They stick like glue, no problem whatsoever. Also a nice way to save the originals. Previous owner did the same btw. |

I got so tired of the floor mat on my QV pushing on the throttle, that I fixed it for good. I went to Office Depot and bought one of those office chair protective mats. You know, the type that is clear plastic with little spikes on the bottom? It was about $10. Then I placed my floor mats on it, drew an outline, and cut them out with a jig saw. I simply glued the rubbery bottom to the firmer plastic and now they DON'T MOVE OR WRINKLE. Not recommending anything to anyone, just how I fixed mine. Been over three years now, works great. |
