JRV, Thanks for the advice. I'll let you know how it works out. I think the problem will be in the motor which should not be too difficult to replace. $3500!!! Bob |

...the top can be opened enough to get the motor/fan unit out. If the fan has come loose from the shaft it can be replaced with a better squirel cage blade with set screw...if the motor is the problem you will have to match it with simular size from any motor supplier, or get it fixed. It's likely some modifications will be neccesary...but with new units being quoted at $3500....a little work can save a lot of bucks. |

That's what I expected. It looks like the entire unit has to be removed and disassembled. No easy way out, correct? Bob

This is not (according to Ferrari) a servicable item. They don't give any info on disassembling the CC housings and don't supply seperate repair parts. However, I have taken them apart and replaced the fans & motors with aftermarket parts. You'll have to match up & modify a fan or motor of simular size & specs. |

Has anyone had problems with the heater air circulation squirrel cage blower on their 348? Mine has all the indications of needing some bearing/bushing work (excessive end play and a loud squealing sound dependent on fan speed). I am considering removing it for repair but the service and parts manuals don't give many clues. I would like to hear if anyone has had some good, practical experience. Bob Snow |
