I did the same thing, rewired the antenna so it goes up when the stereo is switched on. Then rewired the antenna switch as an extra security device.

A previous owner had the switch taken out of my car and changed it so that the radio automatically raises the antenna.

I had mine go bad and I removed it, took it apart and repaired it. If I remember correctly I had to make a pin out of steel to replace the plastic one. Herbs removal is how you should take it apart. If you are not so resourceful then I would buy Herbs switch.

William,
Interesting, as I have just spent the last three weeks trying to find one of these elusive switches. I checked every vendor in the Ferrariclub.com rolodex, and just as I was about to give up, Dennis McCann Ferrari parts can through with one last new-old-stock switch for $165. I happily paid. Your best bet, if you want an original one, is to keep your name on a list at all the used parts guys. BTW, I am going to see about having my broken one repaired. If sucessful, I will send you the email of the guy who fixes it....

The switch is a piece of cake. Remove the ash tray and you will find two phillips head screws. Remove them and the console cover plate will lift right out if you slide it forward as you lift the front. The antenna switch will then come out after removing the top nut and knob {pulls off}. You may be able to disassemble the switch and find the failure cause and repair the old one. If not I may have one to sell. I am thinking about changing my antenna to a single on or off type switch or wire the antenna into the radio for automatic operation, eliminating the switch.

I recently had my electric antenna switch go bad -it won't work in one direction. The spring return does not work and it does work electrically either.

1. Has anyone taken any of the swithces out of the 308 center console and if so do you have any tips for removing the console or the switches?

2. The Ferrari dealers I called all said the switch was no longer available as did T. Rutlands. The cheapest I have seen this switch is $80.00. Does anyone know of a cheaper source. The switch is Ferrari p/n 40168007 but I believe it is the same as Lucas switch PN 30843

Thanks
