In my humble opinion, originality is not worth the price in the newer cars ( i.e., cars like 308, TR, and so on). They will not appreciate in value and if someone wants to buy one, they will with our without the original glass. 1400 is a bit much for an original glass replacement. And it will probably crack again....so I vote for the polycaronate. I am placing an order asap and will find a glass shop who will install it I am sure. Thanks guys, you have been a lot of help. |

I have the rear window from Butch Hooper in my 348, it was installed from the inside at a normal auto glass shop. It's actually better than plexi glass (more scratch resistant) and also lighter, cost 350$. I recommend it. |

Butch Hooper has the polycarb rear windows for less than $400, but I want to put a real glass one back for originality....I don't know how long I will keep this car. I'm in Knoxville and the body shop I use is willing to do the glass for me charging a flat hourly rate....or I can trailer it to ATL and have FOA do it. I'll keep you posted to how it comes out (pun intended). Mike |

I think I saw a plexiglass replacement somewhere for that rear window and it is much cheaper. Probably a lot safer and who knows what else...wish I could remember who had it for sale... it is a company that is national..I'll try to find it. Where are you located? My glass people here won't come near an F car...nor would anyone else...they are scared of the liability and have heard horror stories. I wish parts would not be so expensive...the cars are expensive enough. |

I am in the same boat, except mine came that way from the PO. Trying to find a cheap one. Best price so far is $1475. As far as replacement, as best I can tell, it goes in from the inside of the car, so the leather pieces around it have to come out. Don't know whether it's urethaned or roped in, but hopefully someone else will answer that I will probably leave this to the pros....but every glass guy I talk to around here won't touch it....talked with Ferrari of Atlanta and they said they have a glass guy do them. |

Somehow, I managed to crack the rear window of my TR. Before ordering a new window to replace it...has anyone ever replaced that window... any hints to the correct procedure? Where would I look for instructions? Thanks for any help. |
