I think original pads will do just fine. I had no problem with them on my 328. I was always thinking of them on track though. Now I have Ferodo DS2500. They gives a very good pedal feel. They squeel&dust though. Ciao Peter |

Thanks for the feedback on EBC Dom. I WISH the Mondial was lighter than a 164, but I don't think it is. 5000 mile durability and squealing doesn't sound good to me. Anyone else have a bad experience with EBC? I will take a look at the Hawk pads. I don't care too much about price within reason, just looking for a squeal-free/minimum dust pad. |

Sorry no F-content, but: I had EBC greenstuff pads on my Alfa 164S. Squealed like hell for the first 1000 miles or so. 5000 miles and 2 time trials, and they were worn (but then again, I think the 164 is a heavier car than the 308 or mondials). They do dust, however, it is light colored, and not as noticable. I currently have the hawke pads on my 164. They do dust a little more, but so far I'm happy with them. Dom

I found the following on Greenstuff, from the description it sounds like high kevlar content eliminates dust: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/ebc/greenpads.jsp They are also only $89 for front, $59 for rear. I assume the 328 pads are the same as Mondial (Tire Rack doesn't list the Mondial). The website for Porterfield is: http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/ Both sound highly recommended. I'm leaning towards the EBC pads, but I'll wait to see if anybody has additional suggestions. Thanks for the help.

Mark, I just ordered them from Porterfield by phone. I live in Florida so I haven't seen the temperatures of upstate NY or PA. My pads have been on the car for 2 months and they are quiet for me and minimal brake dust. |

For street use, some of us have opted for EBC greenstuff pads (but I still haven't needed to put mine in yet!). Adam G. gave them a glowing review (no dust, no squeal) -- do a search. |

I use Porterfield R4S and I love them. They also received a lot of good press from many of the users on this site. |

I want to replace the brake pads on a Mondial. Which pads are recommended for street use? I looked at the archives and see references to Porterfield, but they seem to be more of a race pad. I'm looking for street pads that don't squeel or generate excessive dust. |
