Justin -- Do you really mean a "150mm" (~6 inch) spacer? Doesn't seem possible...

Dave,

I have a 348 Spider. I run 225/40/18 front and 275/35/18 at the rear with 150mm spacers. I recommend KUMHOS ECSTAS (SP) they cost me 125.00 inc vat and fitting. I live in the UK.

I drive Yokohama AVS Sport and am happy with them. Gives you 5K Miles in the first run and then switch them on the rims to wear the outside corner inside again. Gives you at least another 2K.
You have to drop the front size down from the manufacturer 50 to a 45 to get the Yokohama. no problems in doing that. On stocjk rims without spacers you can also run bigger tires in the front and rear. I think 275 will not be a problem on the original rim. Plenty of space.

Tirerack is the way to go.

Thanks guys, unfortunately some of the suggested may not be available as I'm UK located. I'll check out the Bridgestones S03's though as they are definitely available here

I just bought a pair of rear Bridgestone's for a 1994 348 Spider. They were the original SO1. I paid 520 for tax installation and warranty. I similiar to others had a lot of tread left, but about a 3 inch crack in one of them.

I like the S03s on my F355B, I did not like the S02s very much at all.

Try Bridgestone Potenza S03's... there are lots of threads on tire recommendations... check with Hubert Otlik (Hugh)... he has good recommendations on tires.

Dave; Tire Rack has a sale on Dunlop 9000. Set of 4 around $600. 225/45 ZR17 front and 255/45 ZR 17 rear. Good grippy, soft rubber. Probably won't get more than 7k-10k miles, but at that price what the hell!

What would be a good fast road tyre (grip and feel important, life expectancy of the tyre not).

Although my Bridgestones (from memory I think they are RE71?) are like new in terms of tread (3K miles), they are 11 yrs old, so I want to get them off before my first full season of using the car!
