I've removed my front valance on my (now old) 308. It is fairly straight forward. Mark is right on here. Just take your time and spin the small nuts and bolts. Remove the grill first. No big deal, but a fairly tedious job. I removed mine to be repainted during a winter refreshing. I recommend it every few years.

I'm trying to remember, but I think I used an 8mm socket. You need the front and fender grills out. I used a 1/4 ratchet with a 3" extension and a swivel and a wench to hold the other side. It wasnt that bad, but the seam sealer in the wheel well as all over the bolts, to the point of not being able to see them. You have to get it off. There are 2 or 3 bigger bolts on the bottom too, mine broke when I put the wrench to them, I guess I should have heated them.

Greg, are the nuts in any tough areas to get at? I need to remove mine and get it painted. The chin of the front spoiler has seen better days in its' 18 years of use!

Removing the valence shouldn't be necessary but if you want to it is easy to do. Hayden fans are great aren't they? The valence is held on there by many little nuts. I don't remember the exact size but they are small. You have to remove the access panels on either side that let you get the blower motors. They are Phillips head screws I think. It is the small black plate in front of your front wheel in the wheel well. HTHs.

You don't need to remove the valence for radiator and fan work unless you want to for other reasons. I've just finished removing the radiator for refurb, new hoses and replaced the stock fans with Hayden fans. I'm not sure valence removal would help that much anyway since the radiator is removed from the top. Removing the hood (bonnet) is a great help though and of course the grill must come off. While you are in this area, I recommend moving that federalized bumber back in a few inches; it's very easy. Search the threads for several ways to do this. I'm extremely pleased with the results.

What is process for removing the air dam/spoiler/valance on front of 308 series cars (1982)? Have to fix radiator, figured I will take off valance and gril at same time to facilitate access for new fans, hoses etc.
