I am not sure it works that way. The 2V inj. cars don't have a lambda sensor or an ECU if I remember correctly. It is purely mechanical injection just like on the 83' QV. If anything on start up it would be leaner due to bypassing the cold start/high idle mode. By jumpering the coolant temp sensor the car would already think it is warmed up. Anyway, many do this so they don't have to let their car go through the high idle phase. |

if you u bypass the temp sensor in the coolant tank, you will always be running rich. The computer senses does not sense the warm coolant |

I will try that. I took her for a spin this am and no problem. Want it to fail so I can diagnose but of course not when I want it to. Also was able to make it go away by shut down and restart. took a few tries but it stopped after 3 tries last week. |

What happens if you unplug the coolant temp sensor wires on the tank and jumper then together with spade connectors. This should bypass the cold start circuit. The car thinks it is already warmed up. This could help in diagnosis. |

My 308 is acting weird. The problem is intermitent and seems to be effecting multiple things. Symtoms: high idle (3000 RPM) like its in warm up. tach reads no higher than 2000 speedo jumps around sometimes sticks at 80 water temp and gas gauge go dead What I know: the temp sensor on coolent tank is connected. Removing one of the wires does not change idle sound. Vacuum hoses are out because the gauges are effected as well. Any ideas guys? |
