Sounds like your radiator fans aren't working. Lots of reasons - fans burnt out (happened to me), radiator thermo switch haywire, fuses, grounds, loose wire and/or connector.

As discussed on another thread around here somewhere, if you need fan motors the newer 'QV' fans are cheaper, last longer, and pump more air. I paid $200 ea from Rutlands. Also, you can probably rebuild the Lucas fans yourself. I rebuilt one, and have been using it on the left side.

You can get manuals from Kazaa? I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
The warning light on the top left of the dash is the fan light. It is saying that your heater blower motor (fan) is on. It is the switch right next to the hazards and wiper speed.

How high is way up? What temp is it outside? Make sure that the radiator is fully vented. Are you on Kazaa? I know you can download a lot of the manuals from there.

I just bought a '77 308. I have yet to get the owners and maintenance books. The warning light on the top left of the dash is on. I do not know what all of the lights indicate. Can someone please help! Also, at idle in traffic, the temp guage goes way up, but comes down quickly after I get going. Should I worry about overheating?
