Christopher,
If you want a better sound, the best option is the tubi exhaust. great fit, looks and sounds good.
But if you want something more reasonable, find the single muffler solution used on the 94/95 spider. It will bolt right up, just make sure you get the muffler mounting bracket as well. It has a much better sound than the earlier type two stage muffler that your car should have.

Best regards, Jim

Has any of you guys had experience with SuperSprint exhausts. I saw an add that said they made them for Ferrari. Just wondering how good they are, if at all.

RexRcr,

You are talking about messing with exhaust overlap. Works well if you are doing one think like racing but I think it messesup the drivebility for daily use. If you could find the specs you guys used on the 348 challenge cars I'd like to play with it. There is really no one left who remembers that stuff and anyone who is left usually quotes some number off the top of his head which could be detrimentally wrong...if you know what I mean.

Want a "rumblier" exhaust sound, and more power on the top end?

Advance the exhaust cam to european specification like we did with 348 Challenge cars in the US. Engine out proceedure, but very straightforward. Gives you a nice lumpy idle and a touch more top end horsepower. I don't have the exact specs in front of me, but the information is out there, ask any dealer who ran 348 Challenge cars, their technicians did this at least a couple times, if not a dozen.

That raspy nosie you are hearing is the air injection system. It turns on when the engine is cold to help with emissions until the o2 sensors warm up and the catalitic converters light off.

Christopher,

I also like the rhaspy sound of my 348 in the first minutes. It is deeper and sounds meaner. After some minutes it gets very quite again and even some freaks told me it sounds like a sewing machine when warmed up. Pretty annoying but it should be difficult to change the chips of the car to maintain the sound.
So after all I decided to buy a Tubi and Tubi test pipes plus some K&N air filter to enhance power and add some mean sound. Havent installed the components yet but should ensure that the car doesnt sound like a sewing machine anymore and more like a racecar (Actually I fear it might be a little too loud now but lets wait and see! :-))
Will definitely report as soon as I got the Tubi and the rest installed.

Con saluti cordialissimi,

I really like the "rhaspy" sound my 348's stock exhaust makes during the first few minutes of warm-up. I realize this deeper sound has something to do with emissions. However, is there any way to modify the exhaust to maintain this pre-warm-up sound even after the car warms up? And if so, could it damage anything?

I do intend on eventually replacing the stock system with a Tubi, although that could be several months out. Any and all help in this matter would be appreciated.
