I use the same battery in my 308. I had it in very, very securely, and have had no problems. Many 308/328 owners also run the same battery without issue...

Oh yeah, I trashed the ford plastic bracket--didn't do me any good.

Has anyone installed an Optima Red Top in their 328? I put a 34/78 in this weekend (model recommended by Optima rep), and just wanted to confirm that the two brackets (the fixed one and the removable one) on the battery tray are sufficient to hold the battery in place. Is there a torque spec for the bracket nut? The battery came with Ford-only plastic brackets that clip on to the battery. I tried them just for the hell of it, but the battery did not fit with them on.

Just want to make sure the battery is not going to budge.
