Other TR water temp gauge behavior: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/68832.html I'd definitely check to verify that both radiator fans are actually running when above 195 deg F -- it's not uncommon for one of the TR water fan systems to fail (they are functionally-independent except for the thermoswitch to energize the relays -- which then energize their corresponding water fan motor). |

On 100 degree days with the AC on in stop and go traffic the water temp would go to 220 but it never boiled over. As soon as it got going it would cool down. Once in the winter the temp started to rise. Fan relays had gone. |

Marc, I can't speak to TR's but my QV does the same thing. The car hates being in traffic and heats up easily. But once I get moving, it's like it say's "thank you" and cools down to normal in a hurry. |

Once my 89 TR gets warmed up the temp hover just below 195. If I get stuck in heavy traffic, the temp starts to climb above the 195 mark. Is this normal operating temp for a TR? - I am a nervous owner when it comes to mechanical issues. |
