My clock was working just fine up until I began taking the car apart. As soon as I disconnected the battery, it stopped! :-) I think I'll have the plastic face replaced with glass, when I get to that point. Bruce and Ken, did you have the shop replace the lens with plastic or upgrade to glass? |

Jay and Lou, My clock was a mess. Not only was the face clouded, the stem was bent, and the gears inside were stripped. The lense was $60. Stem and plastic replacement gears (standard) and cleaning w/lense. $157. Lense, stem, cleaning and metal (upgrade) gears $197. This was more than I had figured it would cost, but I was told that most of that was in labor. I believe the upgrade metal gears are the best way to go, since they should last far longer than the plastic originals. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Sounds like Bruce did just fine in Portland for $40.00. Maybe my clock was just a lot worse off than most. K. R. Brealey |

Lou, Your clock face clouded because the face is made of plastic. The only guage in a 308 with a plastic face (I beleive). I had mine replaced at a local shop here in Portland for $40.00. |

My 308 clock also has a hazy, cloudy glass. It works but I can hardly see the time. Anyone know what would cause the cloudy effect? Kenneth, What was the cost of the repair? |

Kenneth was your clock working? How much did it cost to "rebuild" it? |

Still working on the winter maint. items list. The clock lense had gone very cloudy (could barely see the clock face). Found Bill's clock shop, Fairborn, OH. Apparently they specialize in Automotive and Aircraft clocks. They replaced/made a new lense, cleaned and serviced the clock. Looks like new. They did really nice work. Ask for Sue, she's very knowledgeable and helpful. Contact info. Bill's Clock Shop 2844 Col. Glenn Hwy Fairborn, OH 45324 937-429-4684 WWW.billsclockshop.com |
