Jesse I had my rack rebuilt for $300, which means old bushes pulled out, new ("better") ones pressed in then honed to perfect fit. It took the shop closer to 6 hours (@$70/hr) so another one would likely be a bit more expensive, but nonetheless, if you want the details, contact me offline. On other items, the best advice I can provide is to shop around. I find Superformance in the UK has good prices and good service and some of the US guys will match their prices. I bought new Brembo FRONT rotors for $200/pr and caliper rebuild kits (Dennis McCann sells the kits as does Brian Keegan (FPE) which are a lot more reasonably priced than your estimates which seem particularly high). You should be able to get better prices on all that. Shop around before you do it. Yes the rack can be rebuilt for around $250- 350 unless its beond repair. Window assembly seems high to me. Pads Ok , Brake rotors again, seem high. air horn - what part of it? Coolant tank, just get it repaired. Thats my .02

I paid $250 for my coolant tank, the steering rack at $1164 is way high even by Italian Car PArts prices and I paid $300 for a used muffler cover. Call GT CAR PARTS ask for Bill 623-780-2200 |

There's a guy selling air horn kits on ebay for about $25, but I'm not sure if they're what you want. |

11. Air horn You can do much better than this. Some auto parts stores sell the same (if not slightly similar) Fiamm Dual-Trumpet horns. I know Canadian Tire up here sells them, I think for under $50Cdn... |

I just paid $500 to have my steering rack rebuilt professionally by a company that only does steering racks. It came with a lifetime warranty. New rack from Ferrari - your price is right. Boot covers $4.50 each. |

Jesse, Check the owners site. Many NEW parts can be had for the price of some non-OEM. If you do not have a login, let me know and I will look them and order them for you. Also check with Jeff Howe from Ferrari UK (http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/cgi-bin/discus/board-profile.cgi?action=view_profile&profile=ferrari_uk-users) they run the owners site parts area and I am sure he can help you out. |

Here are my OPINIONS... 1 OK. 2 90% of the time, the tanks can be repaired, otherwise the price is reasonable for a new tank. Used tanks are about 1/4 this price. 3 The little rubber boots? Seems high by about 2x. 4 About right. 5 Seems high. Last 308 air filter I bought was $45-ish, I think. 6 Unless the rack was damaged beyond repair, you probably didn't need a new rack, but to have your old one rebuilt ($250-300). Otherwise, that's about right for a new one. 7&8 Normal. 9 Might be normal for Ferrari, but about 2x-3x over what the same identical units could be had for in the aftermarket. #10 $620 to rebuild the rear calipers is nuts. The rebuild kit is $80 at list. Add in another $50 to have them both cadmium replated so they look brand new... total $210. I think NEW from Ferrari, rear calipers are less than $620 each. 11 The pump or the horn? That's about right for the pump, about 2x for the horn. 12 Normal. 13 Normal at full Ferrari list. 14 Probably about right.

Steering rack you can do better on. There are a few shops that rebuild them for $250. They actually sell a Fiam(brand that is on the 308s) air horn kit at Pep Boys. Not sure if it sounds exactly the same. Someone posted the bearings used in the WP and they are fairly common. |
