UPDATE: I was able to run the car last night long enough for the water to heat up. I slid the knob back to the red and flipped the switch for the fan, and....heat, baby, heat! This was my first fix and so I was pretty elated it worked. One problem down, about 6 more minor things to go...

Good luck on trying to locate a original switch. Mine broke and it took me three months to locate one. They were made by Lucas, and are long out of production. You might try and see if it can be repaired, or check the Ferrari owners site and see if the UK Ferrari network stocks them still.

Regarding the antenna not going down, I had the same problem with my '85 398VQ. I removed the lead wires and cleaned them. This took care of the problem...You may try it.

BTW: This was at 1:00 AM last night (my first project!!), so I haven't been able to try it as I had to work this morning. I'll let you know!

UPDATE:
Thanks, Greg...I checked under the bonnet and under the control panel simultaneously. Sure enough, the black jacket part of the cable had come loose from the bracket under the control panel. It took awhile but I was able to work it back into the bracket and tighten it. The choke cable was keeping the control panel from freeing up so it was a pain to work on. In the future, can I unhook the choke from the engine compartment so I can pull the control panel all the way up and out?

Also, antenna switch moves in the "UP" direction (forward), but is completely loose in the "DOWN" direction, so antenna is stuck up (snooty thing). I'll probably need a new switch, right?

Ok, check the acutal heat lever. It is the blue to red level. You can open up the front bonnet and see if the lever actually diverts the flow of coolant. You can see if it moves or not. Make sure it moves the complete range of motion. Try that then let us know.

Make sure your heat and duct levers are pulled toward the engine. It's the levers by the hand brake. As for foggy windows...welcome to ferrari ownership.

First of all, before I post anything, I do lots of searches (GREAT search engine on this site), but most of what I find is so advanced that I still don't know the answer to some basic questions.

On my (new to me) '78 308 (33k), the fan blows, the vents channel air approprately, which I'm thrilled with, considering the car sat for 2 years, but there's no heat at all. Engine temp seems OK (water temp is in the mid-range), but no heat from the vents. Foggy windows are making it painful to drive...help!

Where should I start? And then where should I look next?
