Doody, many thanks for the explanation. And Good Luck on your project. I have to say looking at that Bordeaux interior that quilted leather looks fabulous. Love those belts for the Schedoni suitcase (I presume). |

andreas: the maranello (550, 575) cars have an option to have the rear deck and the headliner done in that quilted leather that you see in dave's pictures. normally they're just carpet on the deck lid and whatever generic headliner stuff ferrari uses. ferrari calls this look "GTO Style" or something like that, after the 250GTO, presumably, which have deck lids like this. it was an option. my car doesn't have it, and i really like it, hence my question re: retrofitting. doody. |

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm a bit lost about the whole GTO thing here: I always thought there was only the 250 GTO and the 288 GTO. But you guys are talking about a 555 (and the pictures look like that), so what has the GTO got to do with this? |

WWOC replaced an entire interior in a 550, a dino, and a Daytona so it can be done but parts would not be for free. |

Has anyone heard of anyone swapping out their stock rear shelf and/or stock headliner for the GTO leather shelf / headliner? In theory, it smells like it can't be that big a deal on the labor side. Though I assume the parts are a nightmare. Can this even be done? Are they "plug and play" or are they different? My 550 doesn't have the rear shelf, and I really would like it. The headliner I'm not so passionate about, but it's a nice touch. Any advice appreciated. Doody. |
