REMOVING LEVER BEZEL LABLES The lables(icons) are thin aluminum. They can be removed, but it's hard to keep from bending them in the process. The glue seems to be something like trim or contact cement. Ie: its rubbery. Try disassembling the old & new lever ass'ys. (Make sketches or photos so you'll know the orientation for re-ass'y.) The disc shaped knobs are a press fit, so just pull them off. Unscrew the small philips screw holding the little cap on the lever pivot piece. BTW, some of the levers make electrical contact & there may be insulating or other washers. Be sure you document/photograph how things go together. Once you're down to the bare bezels, turn them face down in just enough citrus based solvent to esure the lables are covered. Soak them for several hours. (All citrus solvents aren't equally safe, so occasionally check to make sure the solvent isn't softening the artwork on the lable.) House hold cleaners that remove lable adhesives should work also. Probably even old-fashioned lighter fluid or mineral spirits paint thinner would work. Gunk & most petroleum based parts cleaners are likely to lift the paint. After soaking for several hours or even a day or so, you should be able to gently lift the lables with something like a scalpel or scalpel shaped X-acto knife blade. The glue may try to stretch, so it's a good idea to have a 2nd blade ready to reach under the lable & cut thru it before the lable bends. Glue the good lable on the new lever bezel with contact cement, trim cement, or clear RTV. Just use a very small dab at each end of the lable. You don't need much as there's never any force on the lable. You want an adhesive you can remove again just in case... (Of course if you buy one of Unobtainium's lever bezels it should never break-Heheheh) Re-assemble everything, press the knob on & you're in business. |

Hi all. I've had a look at these. Unfortunately we only have the 60548200 in stock. There is no ETA for the choke and other levers. However, is it possible to remove the 'icon' from an old broken switch and fix it into the new 60548200 lever assembly ? Are the 3 levers otherwise the same ? Just a thought. We have good stocking of 60548200. We also have plenty of knobs, 50017201. The lever is 22.00......about $35.87 The knob is 9.50.......about $15.50 Hope this helps. Regards.

The plating shop is called Custom Coatings Corp. 4794-C Woodlane Circle Tallahassee, FL. 32303. Their phone # is (850) 562- 0538. I found them in Hemmings. What I had to do was ship them my pieces, then they gave me a written estimate. If you do NOT want to proceed, then they ship them back to you at your expense. I just dug out my bill and I paid $80.00 plus frt. of $8.00 and it took about 8 weeks. I forgot how many parts I sent them, maybe 3-5 bezels. They do great work. Good luck. |

Jerry: I'm re-dying the leather on my 308 and, like yourself, the levers are fine but the chrome is peeling. How about sharing the name of your plater. Steve Schroeder |

Peter, What a lead-in! (I'll leave the stack of unmarked small denomination bills in the usual place in the alley.- Heheheh...) Really tho, Both black & chrome lever bezels are now in production! See my latest post: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/202534.html?1044590893 Jerry, I'm looking for an alternate chrome plating supplier. Did he strip the old plating off also? What is his plating process: electroplating or vacuum deposition? Please eMAIL info on your guy in Florida to me: [email protected] Hmm, should I change my username to 'The Unobtainium Supplier? How about Mr. Unobtainium? |

FYI: My levers were intact but the chrome was peeling, so I found a place in Florida that will replate plastic for cheap. They look awesome! |

At the Ferrari parts exchange in Campbell,CA, I found a handful of the levers. McCann also answered with stock. These puppies are pricey! Mr Boaen, please share your product with us when available! |

The knobs have always been available separately under part number 50017201. The only difference between the knobs in your cars and the spare parts currently supplied is the new ones are about 30-40% thicker. Knobs are ~$12 each. |

Lee, I'm close to starting production of the disc shaped lever knobs. Let me know if you can't find a used one. To the best of my knowledge the individual knobs were never sold separately. |

Peter Dennis McCann at allferrariparts.com has stocked them in the past as has Italian Car parts. I don't recall if Jeff Howe at Owners/Maranello site in the UK has them but worth a try. Unfortunately these parts tend to be expensive and break really easily Philip |

Peter: You might want to do a search for "choke" or "using the choke" to read about the folks out there who say a choke hurts the carbs. I'm not entirely convinced but it's worth reading; one guy gives a real nice non-choke cold startup procedure that has worked well in the 20-something Tennessee weather lately. Also, I need the knob on the choke lever. Please let me know if you find one of those. I saw your other post about the mats...excellent deal! |

Peter, Are you missing the complete lever assemblies? Or is just the plastic bezel that the actual lever mounts to that's broken?

Matt, correct about the Choke. At this time, I have no choke, but the car runs great. When will the choke come in handy? |

Peter, The one on the FAR right is the Choke. Make sure you are talking about the Vent or the Choke. |

I need three of the four vent levers for my '77 308. I bought one that was in stock (60548200). This was the one on the far right. I need the balance if anyone knows a good source (or may have a few serving as paperwieghts!). I have yet to find a Ferrari part website that was not email only for requests. |
