Elite Auto-888-634-2499 (Raymond). The Rotors are Cadmium plated steel and are available in gold or silver. It is a plating so it will not scratch off very easily. I just ordered mine on 2/6 and they said it would be about 2 weeks. The price is $795.00 plus freight of $50.00 (to MI. anyway). |

Chris: That's gold cadmium plating, and it's removed from the braking surface within just a few miles. However, the plating on the hub, vanes, inside the holes, etc, should last a very long time, intended to reduce rusting. Elite Auto's site is www.eliteauto.ca but it doesn't work very well. It's better to just call them (ask for Raymond) at 1.888.634.2499

Jerry-Do you have a web address or contact number for Elite Auto? Mike-Your rotors appear to have a gold or zinc hew to them. Did they come that color or was that a special coating? If it is a coating, does the gold color have a tendancy to scratch or wear off over time or under extreme braking conditions? |

My only change was the rotors, using them with my Porterfield carbon/kevlar R4-S pads. One of these days I might change over to s/s brakelines, but I don't plan on any other changes. I haven't noticed any difference on the street, and my first track event using them will be March 8. I really wanted them for high heat driving like the track. They're also supposed to be better during wet conditions, but I haven't had the 308QV out in the rain since I've put them on either. |

Thanks mike, I will order from Elite. Have you noticed improved braking with the new rotors? Did you go with s/s caliper pistons as well? I assume you have stock calipers. |

They had the best price, but just two months or so ago I got it from Elite delivered to my door for less than $600 ($550 plus shipping)! Guess they realized that was too exceptional a deal. Still, $795 for all four wheels is about half what you'll find it for elsewhere.

Who's got the best pricing on the cross drilled rotors for a '79 308? I've called Elite Auto in Canada so far and their price is $795.00 for a set of 4. Anyone know a better price? Thanks. |
