The difference in bolt length is due to the difference in thickness of the mounting surface of the brake rotor. The front rotor is much thicker where it matches up to the front hub than the rear rotor/rear hub interface. This accounts for the difference in bolt "grip-length". I would assume that the front is thicker to account for additional heat build-up and the stress of turning forces. |

Anyone know *why* Ferrari designed them to have the front bolts almost 3/8" longer than the rears? What's the reason or advantage? |

The shank length (from end of bolt to start of taper) on the front is 44mm; rear is 35mm. |

I searched the archives but couldn't find it. Does anyone know offhand what the thread length of 308 wheel lug bolts are? I know the thread itself is 14x1.5 but can't find the length of the threaded area below the taper. Apparently it is different than a 328. And apparently the fronts are different than the rears. Thanks in advance. |
