The guy in Silverstone is Terry Keys, he is based on the circuit industrial estate near the new entrance. Try Kent High Performance in Kent they are extremely clued up and very helpful.

Thanks guys! Appreciate all the info. I only intend on entering the formula classic with my 308 - nothing more. The idea behind this formula is fun - a way to use the ferrari to hear the engine roar and have fun. As the highest tipo I'll be competing against is the 328, I think the competition will be quite close I'm going to take a trip to that store at silverstone tomorrow - should be fun! |

I think he is only going to do some classic car racing (Ferrari Formula Classic) thus fun is the priority ... Get out there and enjoy, far better than pottering around on a public road. Pete |

Buy a different car. 308 are terrible racecars. Limted HP by design, engine too high, wimpy suspension, too heavy power to weight, imprecise steering, wimpy brakes, wimpy colling system. To get them decent you have to start welding the doors just to control some flex. Rollcages are impossible to fit with your helmeted head unless you are a miget. You will spend so much money you wish you bought a stock 348 challenge car and you still will not be as fast as the lamest challenge car. 20 yrs of technology is hard to make up in your garage. |

I think you'll need a roll cage and in the SCCA a GT-2 308 requires a fuel cell. Window net too and I would recomend a seat back brace to attach the seat to the roll cage for extra saftey. |

Seeing as you are in the UK Odhran, you have two principle suppliers: www.demon-tweeks.co.uk www.grandprixracewear.com GPR has a location just outside of London and another in Silverstone. Both are good but if you go to the Silverstone location, there is a Ferrari tuner in the same complex. For the life of me I cannot remember their name however they can surely get you started right. |

With sticky tires you have to be careful you dont put too much stress on the tranny and the rest of the drivetrain. this means no holeshots |

Hi all, I want to do some racing this year in my 308 - easy stuff like the Ferrari Formula Classic (organised by the UK FOC - http://www.ferrariownersclub.co.uk/happenings/2003/january/formula_classic.asp). Can someone point me in the direction of where I can get the following (and typical costs): 1. New wheels with really good tyres (any suggestions) 2. Racing seats 3. Things necessary to fit a 4 or 6 point seat belt 4. Fire extinguisher 5. front and rear towing eyes 6. external ignition cut-off switch Thanks in advance
