Does the 330GT have a mechanical or electrical oil pressure gauge? The Veglia electrical gauges, or actually the senders, start to read low as they age. Eventually mine on the Dino would read near zero at idle and maybe 30-40psi at speed. I replaced it with a mechanical gauge just to check it out and in reality I had 30-40 at idle and more like 60-80psi at speed. So your pressure and gauge/sender seem pretty healthy to me. |

What is the water and oil temps at the time. Sounds inline for that v-12. I can check mine and let you know where it is exactly but mine is in metric and will need conversion. |

That's funny, my 308 reads nothing on oil pressure and temperature. Must be a wire somewhere..... |

JRV FYI Maser runs at 70+ pegged PSI except at idle when it drops to 35. They claim this is correct. You are right about water droplets on inside of oil cap esp. in cold time of year: condinsation clear water. When oil is warm water droplets are gone. They reccomend checking oil level with engine running should all dry sumps be checked when engine is running? Best Jim |

My '77 308 runs at about the 60 mark at hwy RPM and at the 30 mark during idle. My guages are in Italian. I am not sure if they are all the same for 308's. Mine may be a bit low at idle..???Comments?? |

Oil Pressure is supposed to increase with RPM's. Your numbers sound about right...maybe a little high, warm...if I remember correctly the specs are about 72 psi at 6000rpm's (and if I don't remember correctly I have the books...lol)...but without seeing it in person ? ... do you hear any funny knocking noises? |

I own s/n 10193, the last 330GT 2+2 made. After the engine warms up, and as I cruise along at 3000-3200, my gauge show 70+ psi. When I accelerate to 6000 the guage holds steady at 70, then as I decelerate, it drops off to 40-50 psi all the way back to 2500. Now when I accelerate again to 3000-3200, it climbs right up to 70+. Is this bad, good, normal? Got Any ideas? Chuck Hazle |
