I did, indeed do this conversion. I bought the fuse panel from NAPA auto parts- it's generic. I then simply transfered the wires and replaced the connectors. Since I did it, no electrical problems with this car, none, never. |

Hi Everyone, Seen here is what Jeff Edison did to the 1985 Euro 308GTS QV . Seems to me he used something from, say, VIP Auto or other source and made his own that uses normal glass fuses. Hopefully Jeff will chime in here. As i see it, the stock unit offers a much smaller contact area plus employs non-standard (per se) fuses. What Jeff did offers a higher contact area and (possibly) better secures the fuse into the holder. Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin PS: As always, if you a larger photo e-mail me. Usually the file size is under 1MB for larger, highly detailed photo.

Just did my fuse boxes. I got the white one from Rutlands, for about $140ish, as I recall. It's available elsewhere for a little less. Even with a new box, BE SURE TO SOLDER *ALL* CONNECTIONS. Although I didn't replace the black box, I did remove it and SOLDERED EVERYTHING. If you do this, you won't have any further problems. |

Thanks Jeff -- the more troublesome side IMO... (although the multiple riveted male spades on the front side can be problematical too IME...) |

Hi Everyone, As i recall, Jeff Edison (Euro308guy) updated the fuse box on the (now mine, was Jeff's) Euro 1985 308GTS QV. Am not home to take photos, yet can supply photos tomorrow and, hopefully, a source where to buy the newer (better) fuse boxes. Thanks for your patience. Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin

Just did both boxes...$160.00 each; same flawed design as 20 years ago, Ferrari has done nothing to update the design.... |

Randall -- There is no "blade"-fuse type equivalent 308 fusebox available that I'm aware of. Even if you could find a generic blade fuse holder with the right number of fuse positions you'd also need to fabricate the input and output power distribution "circuits" that the plates/rivets on the back of the stock 308 fusebox provides so this is not a trivial project. (Jeff H. -- Can you put up a shot of the 308 fusebox backside?) |

Anyone replace the fuse box with a newer type? I can't seem to find an arrangement that is the same in the blade setup. I wouldn't mind switching over to that style fuse and fuse block out of convenience. |
