The "O" ring is used to prevent moisture from getting into the center mounting of the wheel which causes the wheels to corrode against the center wheel hub. make sure you have the orings on the wheels to prevent that from happening to you. you can get similar o rings at any auto parts store due to the Oring are not special in any way, just make sure it is the same size and thickness.

I just bought new center caps for my wheels and I noticed this o-ring for the first time. The only one that didn't have the o-ring was extremely discolored(the one on the right). The caps stay on fine without them so I was wondering if they are put on the prevent brake heat damage(discoloration). I can't find them in a Ferrari parts catalog. Does anyone know about these things and where I can get a new one? Rutlands is looking around for one now but I may need a new source. Upload
