I have an 80 and it's there. So could be a 78 or 79 year model. |

What year did they start to put a cover over the muffler? My 77 doesn't have one nor do I see one in the parts catalog. |

It does scoop up air from the leading edge. I dont see why you would want to take it off anyway. It isnt heavy but cant see it hurting anything if you decide to leave it off. |

Is it nessasary to keep that metal plate attached to the back muffler cover on my 308 GTBi. It looks like it helps the cats get more air at speed. But can I leave it off? If, I leave it off it seems that the cats and muffler would get and more better air flow. I could be wrong have been in the past. |
