Dr. I, hmmmm....try some reverse engineering.....take just one of the old guide tubes and push it back in from the rear far enough so that it pokes out the front again and you can see where the holes are. I don't think I completely disassembled the interior area . |

I have taken the latch console completely off, as well as the cover for the handbrake, but cannot see much. There is carpet that needs to be removed from the back, as well as the leather trim from the rear window down...or am I being too drastic? Thanks for all the help guys |

Dr. I, the last one I did, if I remember correctly, you have to loosen and lift up the latch console enough to reach the bulkhead and the holes, once the console is loosened and lifted you can barely reach in/see in enough to get the guide tubes started. |

have no idea how it got damaged, but i simply pulled the guide tube out from the door and there was the bed. I had replaced the cable once before as it broke at the latch in the door, but this time i could not insert the new cable in... So, I have to take the enterior apart, huh? |

Just curious......how did the guide tube get kinked? During a major service? I recently replaced a broken cable for my TR rear hatch......fortunately the guide tube was OK. Depending on where it is broke will determine how the bad cable is removed. Insertion of a new one has to start from the door sill side....going to the engine. |

Dr. I, installing is the reverse of taking it out. Please explain what the problem is, not sure I understand...you just need to feed the new cables thru their guide tubes...what am I missing about the problem? |

Any suggestions on how to replace the rear deck release cable ? Mine had a kink in it, had to take it out, and now am wondering how to replace it. The katch broke twice, had to replace it the first time and realized that the housing had to come out because it had that kink. Help????? |
