I just read a thread on rust out problems in the panels below the trunk, around the muffler area, the repairs involved and the problem being caused by the stock insulation wicking water.
My '78 308 GTS is on jacks right now so I thought I would see how mine was looking. There is no insulation at all and the rust is just minimal surface type on the left and right sides. I am going to hit the area with POR 15 and seal it up. I feel it wouldn't be a bad idea to put insulation back in but I am not sure of type and thickness. I heard mention the type that racers use but how does it compare to the old stuff?
Thanks for the information, DJ
