I just recently replaced gaskets on one of the valve covers, on my TR. The Ferrari dealer sold me a can of red VHT wrinkle paint.....he stated that this is what they use on all the red valve covers.

Upon completion, it looked great, however, I thought is was a little too dark, as Rob has noted. Since it still looks great, I decided to leave it alone.......damn the concours.

If you pierce the can (hold the spray can upside down and bled all the propellant out) and pour the paint into a spraygun cup. You could probably have it tinted with an enamel tint?

I've used the VHT wrinkle paint, it's not quite the correct red, so I painted over with the right color and it was perfect. Any body shop can do this for you, too. You can't tint the wrinkle coat, but you can spray over it and bake it in a paint booth.

VHT makes it. If you can't find it locally, you can order it at http://www.carshopinc.com/product/VHT.shtml

I read an article about restoring the intake manifold on a 3.2 engine with Red Wrinkle paint.

Who makes this or where can I get it? None of the auto paint stores I've talked to can get it?

Thanks
