The blinking has me baffled....sounds like an "on" signal with a fault in the wiring or bulb that tickles it off/on/off. I say this because the airbag system has it's own black box (located under the passenger toe kick) and when it gets a fault, it turns the idiot light on for good. It has to be reset (US spec Cars) by the dealer with the SD-1 tester. The plug in under the same toe kick (plug with yellow sleeved wire leads). A common cause is that the battery goes dead, or is shut-off WHILE the key is on. The computor thinks the system is armed and the battery is cut in a wreck. Because it's so common, the dealers here in So. Cal will reset for free. And while the do it, they see all the faults and trouble shoot the system for free while they're at it. If you can wait, just unscrew the light bulb in the cluster until the next time you see a dealer. Sorry I can't help more, but I've never found a solution.

Also, the workshop manual shows a 3rd wire at the diagnostic plug on the non-US cars and says you can short this to ground to reset the system...but whaile there is a 3rd pin on the US cars, there is no wire on it. I've tryed grounding the other two pins without effect.

Hi Clark,

Check on the previous threads as I remembered there were a few F-chatters having the same experience.

Hope you could solve the problem soon.

I have a 95 F355 and my Air bag light was occasionally blinking on/off and now it is on constantly. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it?

Regards,
Clark
