EFwun, These modular wheels can be fitted to 550. Perhaps keep the 550 and get the 19" modular wheels?? Top picture is Nero 575M with 19" Modular wheels and the bottom photo is my car with sports seats option.

I drove a 575M F1 before buying my '01 550. After replacing the center tunnel and silenced tubis with a venturi crossover and solo-tubos, I reckon the uncorked 550 will run with the 575M, no prob. (175lbs lighter, and uncorking it probably makes throttle response a little better and maybe lets out 5-10hp) F1 clunky around town, and you don't get the enjoyment of doing your own "heel & toe" work, nor the ability to dip the clutch at any time in traffic. Also, the 550 shown in the video with Luca Badoer didn't have "Fiorano", and looks like they set the suspension on "comfort"; e.g., note the "roll-oversteer" on most cornering shots. Nevertheless, 575 cabin and instrument layout are way cool. Also, as we discussed, the 19inch modulars are gorgeous. |

Anybody had a 550 then bought a 575M with F1 transmission?? What is the downsides vs upsides?? I watched the video that F released 550 and 575M. Just want to get some opinions from the current 575M owner with previous 550 owned. I love the look of 550 bumper with fog light. Someone told me about "cadillac feel" on 575M because of skyhook suspension for more everyday drivability. Comments anyone?? |
