If you visit: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/211073.html?1046368018 third posting has three pictures. The lowest picture is a 96+ F355, the middle picture is a 95 F355, and the top is an F360. |

It is interesting that the F360 reverted back to individual intakes als 95 F355. |

Mitch-- The OBD I computer system was known as the Motorinc 2.7 and the later was the Motorinc 5.2. Just another FYI. |

No, all F355s have the individual throttle bodies burried in the velocity stacks. The 95 F355s have individual left/right air systems, the left air inlet feeds the left air box that passes through the left air metering section then feeds the left cylinder bank.... The 95s use OBDIO-I ECUs. The 96+ F355s have a different arrangement that after the air box and filter, they neck into a common point where air mass is measured then diverge into the left and right cylinder banks. The 96+ use OBDIO-II ECUs. |

I believe that was only on the 1995 model. Later 355s went to two throttle bottles I believe. |

Individual throttles provide faster response in both directions of throttle movement. Individual throttles allow the rest of the intake system to operate at (almost) atmospheric pressure, improving efficiency. This also lets more of the intake harmonics reach our ears. |

Jeff I hadn't realized the difference either -- does the 348 have a plenum and 2 TBs? |

Going with individual throttle's for each cylinder vastly improves response and potential flow quality. FWIW, I knew ten years ago it would be this spec. when the rumors started as to what the 348 replacement would be like. |

Did you guys know the 355 came from the factory with individual throttle bodies? I never realized this. This must be the reason, (along with the 5 valve heads), it makes so much power! I swiped this pic from the wrecked car on eBay.
