Yes the earlier type plug is the same used on the 328, testarossa and 3.2 mondial and some 348`s. around the time of the 348 spider, they changed to the lighter style plug. And, yes some cars in between had the old socket with a new style light and vice versa. Regards, Jim |

The Owners Handbook ("Technical Manual") says this socket is for the portable lamp, but the male plug on my lamp (the original lamp) is sized to fit the cigarette lighter, not the plug in the glove box. There must have been two styles of plug. |

Scott, The socket is for the emergency light that is in your tool kit. usually the light is in a small black bag. Check your tool kit. Best regards, Jim |

Was cleaning out the glove box in my spider today when I came across a 'socket' on the inside left wall of the compartment ??? does anyone else have one of these & can anyone tell me what its for?? I couldnt get a look inside the socket due to the bad angle it would have required removing the compartment lid. |
