I paid $5,000 to have my 911 painted a few years back, with me doing all the stripping to bare metal. Although shop had good reputation, they ordered 2 batches of paint, car did not match; shop owner retired and moved befor I could take it back.

Found another shop who did a re-spray (magnificient job) for $500. It's the prep work you pay for, and $5k would be low ball estimate in most parts of the country, and new trim and mouldings for a Ferrari will be a bit expensive compared to 'normal' cars. The original paint on my 308 is now 19 years old, I don't believe anyone can match it's quality!!

Jeff, What you have described here are the two extreme ends of the spectrum. I think Scott wants to get a idea somewhere in between.

It all depends on what kind of job you want done, Atop of the line single stage acrylic urethane job will probabbly cost $10,000. or more, the car has to be disasembled and stripped to bear metal(urethane reacts with most paints)then Epoxy primed, sandable primers & fillers applied, acrylic sealer applied, then painted, then put back together cut& buff, materials are very expensive,-one mistake like wrong temp thinner or waiting to long between coats, paint will lift, then you start all over again. Or you can go to Macco or Earle Shives where they wash your car with a abrasive wash, mask it, spray it with a low grade acrylic enamel for about $250. Just depends on what you want to spend

Listen Guys, It depends on who is doing the work. There are shops that do a good job and paint a car because it's a car. Then there are those places who see the Ferrari emblem and the price goes up $1000.00 or more. Depending on where you take it and if you are satisfied with their work on other cars that you have seen which they have painted. The pros know how to tell you how much better they are and why it costs more because it's a Ferrari. Be careful. I would tell the guys you are getting estimates from that you would like an honest estimate not an inflated one because it's a Ferrari. Don't be bashful, they know what you mean.

Sorry, from your profile I saw that you are in Florida. Well I am in Seattle, WA and I paid a lot more than someone who lives in the mid-west.

What area of the U.S. (or world) do you live in?
That makes a big difference too.

Between $40 to $60/hr depending on area plus cost of paint.

I was just wondering if any of you had any body work done or a paint job for your car and what you paid. I'm looking to get some rust removed from the doors and 1/4 panels and finish her with a nice paint job. What should I pay?
Thanks,
Scott
